Sexual Harassment Policy

The Mangy Moose Steakhouse and Saloon is committed to providing

a work environment that is free from all forms of discrimination and

conduct that can be considered harassing, abusive, coercive and

disruptive, including sexual and other types of harassment. Actions,

words, jokes or comments based on an individual’s sex, race, color,

national origin, age, religion, disability, pregnancy, sexual orientation,

gender identity, gender expression, veteran status, military duty,

genetic information or any other legally protected characteristic will

not be tolerated.

Harassment Will Not Be Tolerated:

ALL employees, including hourly employees, members of ownership

and management are prohibited from engaging in harassment of any

type. The Mangy Moose will take every appropriate step to ensure that

its employees are not subjected to harassment by guest, vendors, and

members of public. Harassment will never be tolerated and will result

in disciplinary action, up to and including immediate termination of

employment. Non-employee violators of our policy are subject to

expulsion from the Mangy Moose building.

Harassment Defined:

Harassment is a pattern of physical and/or verbal conduct that a

reasonable employee would find intimidating, undesirable, or offensive

and has the purpose of interfering with an employee’s work

performance or creates a hostile work environment.

The types of conduct that are prohibited by this policy and that may

constitute harassment but not limited to the following:

 Verbal Conduct (derogatory comments)

 Visual Conduct (derogatory media)

 Physical Conduct (derogatory movement)

 Online Conduct (derogatory social postings)

Sexual Harassment Defined:

Sexual harassment includes unwelcome sexual advances, request

for sexual favors and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual

nature, when:

 Submission to conduct made either explicitly or

implicitly a term or condition of employment.

 Submission to or rejection of conduct that is used

as the basis for employment decisions affecting

an individual.

 Such conduct that has the purpose, affect or

unreasonably interfering with work performance

or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive

work environment.

Specific examples of Sexual Harassment include:

Reporting Harassment is Everyone’s Responsibility:

The Mangy Moose can only remedy harassment which you bring

to our attention. To give us the opportunity to address and prevent

future occurrences, it is everyone responsibility to IMMEDIATELY

report any conduct that they believe may violate this policy. Always

report any behavior as soon as possible.

Employees should immediately report conduct to management at

the restaurant. If the employee feels they cannot report it to that

manager, they should contact the General Manager. If the employee

feels they cannot report it to the General Manager, they should contact

the Owner. Any employee can raise concerns and make reports

without fear of reprisal or retaliation.

Investigation of Claims:

Your concerns will be investigated promptly, and appropriate

action will be taken in the event that violations of the policy have

occurred. All complaints will be kept in the strictest confidence, unless

it is necessary in the investigation.

Depending on the nature of the harassment, discipline can

include, but not limited to, counseling, suspension without pay, and/or

termination of employment.

False accusations of harassment can have serious effects on other

employees and the culture of The Mangy Moose. If a complaining

employee, after investigation, has maliciously or recklessly made a false

accusation, they will be subject to discipline, up to and including

termination of employment.
